A friend asked me to make this painting as a mutual buddy’s Christmas present.

Got help working out some of the tough parts from my insanely talented friend.

What program do you use for painting? About how long does it take you to finish a piece?

I mostly use Adobe Photoshop though for many of my older pieces I used Corel Painter 11. As for how long - it depends on the piece, but it is hard for me to gauge how much time is spent because I never really keep proper track of it. ^^; (I’m trying to keep a record now so I can figure that out.)

For a book project, myself an other artists were asked to pick a constellation and then make an illustration about it. I picked the Phoenix Constellation.

After doing some research, I learned that the Chinese added the Phoenix constellation to their collection of star charts after learning about it from seeing some Western star charts.

I thought it was really neat that even though the people of that time would never see it in the constellation in their lives (Phoenix is only visible from the southern hemisphere.), they were so dedicated to learning more about the stars that they updated their star charts anyway.

Old 2009 commission for a friend. I was inspired to do a sunrise/sunset picture because the screenshot she gave me of her WoW Character was standing before an in-game sunset and the colors looked incredibly pretty.

I reaaaaaaaaaaaally need to update the hair on this one. I was playing around with a really odd style back then.

“The Remnants” are two demi-gods. Lorenthis, the female, is based in Order, Logic, Civilisation, and Light. Ash’ranak, the male, is based in Chaos, Emotion, Nature, and Darkness. They each tried to shape the world the way they felt was best, causing them to clash often.

Ironically, they worked at their best when they had a common enemy for them to fight against.

May come back to tweak the background and improve upon it sometime in the future.

.Night Priestess.

Class assignment where I had to design and paint a scene based upon a written prompt. I really, really liked this painting and I still want to work on it some more, but I’m having a really hard time figuring out what the lighting should actually look like on the priestess.

It’s tough trying to wrap my head around how the body would look at that angle with two different light sources.

Class assignment where I had to design and paint 4 elemental dragons based upon a written prompt. This… well uh… this was supposed to be the fire Dragon, but he’s really just a tiger with wings.

I liked a Tiger-Dragon concept I made way too much and just recycled it and set it on fire. :P

I was planning on making his paws into actual dragon talons with scales to tie in more dragon motifs (plus that’s how my original concept was anyway), but I ran out of time and paws are easier for me to mess around with then dragony talons.

School assignment where we were instructed to paint an interior space with at least 3 people interacting in it and… I decided to go with 4 children fighting of a huge closet monster in a giant room covered with closet doors. It was mind numbing painting so many closets, but the end result is kind of fun.

Why so many doors? Well, the monster in this painting is not just a monster in a closet.

He is THE Monster of ALL Closets. His mighty lair is a giant room connected to every closet of every child in the world and his power is fueled by the numerous toys, socks, and security blankets he steals from kids everywhere. ( Or maybe I was just too influenced by Monsters Inc. <_<;)

Private commission of a World of Warcraft character.

This is a commission where the client requested the face of his best friend painted as a forsaken from World of Warcraft wearing the Season 3 Vengeful Ringmail Shaman armor only in pink and blue instead of red and blue. Apparently she plays as a forsaken priestess in-game, but REALLY likes the look of the armor. It was really tough painting it.

The Voice of Emma-O

Private commission of a Legend of the 5 Rings character named Tiru. He is a Crane Samurai who pledges himself to be the ‘voice’ of Emma-O, the Fortune of Death, in order to bring back his beloved who had recently died.

Tiru would eventually become reviled in Rokugani history as the founder of the Raven, which eventually fell to darkness. Rumor has it however that at the end of his life, he made a final stand against the entire corrupt clan. While most dismiss it as rumor and hearsay, his last words are sometimes whispered in moments of great trial and great sacrifice, as he stood alone in the burned fields that once were rife with cherry blossom trees, and faced a Clan alone; “Come one at a time.”

His katana is the Blade of Kali-ma ( one that he and a Hare clan samurai-turned-monk took from her when they partially shattered her prison in the Burning Sands ) and his wakizashi is one he had from his time as a Crane.
